L. D. Lowe, 86, of Kenefick, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the residence of 5094 FM 1008, in Kenefick. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
L. D. was born December 24, 1929 in Purvis, Mississippi, to parents; Leavy, Sr. and Margaret Hartfield Lowe, and has been a longtime resident of Kenefick. He was a veteran of the US Army with service in Korea, a self-employed carpenter, and former pastor of Living Waters Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing, and farming.
Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Billy James Lowe, and sisters: Lorice Pitts, Lucille Smith, and Merle Johnston. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Dolores Davis Lowe of Kenefick, daughters: Shelia Hall and husband Larry of Crosby, Rita Borny and husband Jean-Francois of Crosby, and Vanessa Shields and husband Paul of Crosby, sons: Reginald Lowe and wife Lori of Dayton and Timothy Lowe and wife Karla of North Carolina, sisters: Loretta Stampley and husband Sherman of Mississippi and Nancy Seals and husband Carl Gosmann of Tennessee, brothers: David Larry Lowe and wife Gloria of Mississippi and Velton Lowe and wife Audrey of Mississippi, grandchildren: Christina Ortiz, Michelle Spiers, Jeremiah Price, Joshua Price, David Price, Chad Price, Regina Monts, Samantha Borny, Serina Borny, Katarina Borny, Katrina Borny, Chelsea Hughes-Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Riley Lowe, P. J. Shields, Kellie Anderson, Brandon Wright, Cameron Lowe, Shelbi Lowe, Melissa Feti, and Christi Price, 24 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
