Lavinia Dillard, 88 of Dayton passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 in Dayton. She was born September 27, 1930 in Dayton to parents Roy and Vera Robinson Stubbs.
Services for Lavinia will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heirlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Pace-Stancil. Serving as pallbearers will be Tooter Dillard, Cade Dillard, Kevin Dillard, Marlee Dillard, Mike Tilton, Grant Tilton, Christopher Dillard and Blaine Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Brazil, Mike Potez, Leo Gates, Roland “Shug” Robinson, Leonard Shipman, Stuart Marcus, Tyler Ericson, Randy Thomas and Floyd Rhodes
Mrs. Dillard was a lifelong resident of Dayton where she went to Dayton High School. She was a founding member of the South Dayton Baptist Church. Lavinia loved her church and was a loyal member. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching the Cowboys.
Lavinia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, H.G. “Sonny” Dillard, sister Esther Gates, brother Bo Stubbs and twin grandsons. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Tilton and husband James of Dayton; sons, Tony Dillard and wife Jan of Dayton and Glyn Dillard and wife Kerry of Devers; grandchildren, Tooter Dillard, Kevin Dillard, Mike Tilton, Brandy Dillard, Marlee Dillard, and Shanna Ericson; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Louise Vyoral; special friend, Queenie Andress who was a wonderful gift from God; also numerous other relatives and friends.
