Larry Gene Pence, 69, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Hardin County. He was born May 17, 1949 in Merkel, Texas to his late parents, L. B. Pence and Leola Marshall Pence.
Mr. Pence had resided in Dayton for the last 12 years and had previously lived in Hankamer. He was a retired machinist, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a handyman and enjoyed hunting and camping and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Larry was the kind of man that would help anyone with anything, going great distances just to lend a hand to anyone that needed it.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Cheryl Pence; daughter, Misty Kruass and her husband, Paul of Kingwood; son, Kevin Melott and his wife, Rebecca of Prior Lake, Minnesota; sister, Valarie Barnett of Montgomery; grandchildren, Juliette, Alek, Parker and Emily and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
