Obituary for Kenneth "Honey" Taylor February 1, 1935 – April 7, 2025

Kenneth "Honey" Taylor, 90, of Liberty, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2025. Born on February 1, 1935, in Livingston, Texas, to William Lee Taylor and Viola Murphy, Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

A proud member of the Livingston High School class of 1953, Kenneth, known as "Honey" to those closest to him, was a man who lived his life with a deep love for family, faith, and the outdoors. He and his high school sweetheart, Barbara Gardner Taylor, were married for 70 years and shared a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories. For the past 45 years, they called Moss Hill home, where they built their lives together. Before settling in Moss Hill, they lived in Lumberton and Liberty.

Honey was a dedicated member of the Community Baptist Church in Moss Hill and found great joy in fishing, hunting, and traveling with his family. He treasured the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially during their annual spring break trips to the lake—a tradition that became some of his most special memories. He was known for involving his kids and grandkids in everything he did, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Kenneth is survived by his three daughters, Wydette Hulvey and her husband David, Darlene Thornton and her husband Dudley, and Cindy Collins and her husband Ted; his sister, Leola Camp; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Beausoleil and husband Mark, Dave Hulvey and wife Miranda, Barbie Skarpa , Bobby Skarpa, J.C. Frye and wife Ashley; and his great-grandchildren, Nick, Liam, and Olivia Beausoleil, Colton Hulvey, Kelsey Broussard, Austin Walker, Taylor Walker, Brianna Skarpa, Jaycee & Jax Frye, Jonathan Collins, Brandon Collins; great-great grandchildren, McCoy, Claire, Brailah, and Jasper.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Billie Jean Hickman.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A service celebrating Kenneth’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the funeral home, with Phil Fitzgerald officiating.

Pallbearers will be Nick Beausoleil, Liam Beausoleil, Austin Walker, Colton Hulvey, Jonathan Collins, and Brandon Collins. Honorary pallbearers include J.C. Frye, Jax Frye, Dave Hulvey, and Bobby Skarpa.
