Kenneth Lenear Foster

Kenneth Lenear Foster, 85, of Spring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born March 19, 1929 in Rye, Texas to parents Emmett Daniel and Lillie Maybelle Foster who preceded him in death along with his brother, Mitchell Dean Foster.

Kenneths family lived in a logging tent until he was about 3 years old, later they moved to a small house by the Trinity River highway bridge and then moved to the gravel pit at Romayor, Texas. He went to school at Concord in first grade then to Romayor until the school was closed and relocated to Hardin, Texas where he graduated from Hardin High in 1947. He then went to business school in Houston before going to work for U.S. Steel where he soon became a member of management. He then began training for part time service in the first class of the Houston Auxiliary Police (which is now Houston Reserve Officers) where he was eventually promoted to Sargent. In 1964, U.S. Steel relocated Kenneth and his family to Richardson, Texas. Shortly after arriving in Richardson, Kenneth continued his passion for law enforcement and joined the Richardson Police Department as a Sargent in the Reserves. He worked with the PTA and was a lifetime member. While all five of his kids went through school, he was a member of the parents band association and football association at JJ Pearce High School. He was transferred back to the Houston area in 1976 where he continued to work for U.S. Steel. He retired in August of 1986. He liked hunting, fishing, all officers associations, planes, and old western movies. Ken had liver cancer, heart bypasses, and Alzheimers. He was loved dearly by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Jean Foster; daughters, Wanda Diane Foster Candler, Patricia Kay Foster Reddick, and Myra Jeanette Foster (Stanton) Feagin; sons, Kenneth Lenear Foster, Jr., and David Mitchell Foster; brother, Myron Reagan Foster; grandchildren, Brandi, Tracy, Rachel, Holly, Jamie, Kerry, Shaun, Cassie, Denise, Joey, Kiri and Tabitha; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ryan, Lizzy, Eugene, Aiden, Everett, Ashlyn, Alex, Grace, Shelby, Elizabeth, Shane, Lillie, Elizabeth, Andrew, Brittany, Jemma, and Liam; numerous other relatives and friends.

Brother Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park, Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
