Kenneth Bill Edwards

Kenneth Bill (Buck) Edwards was born October 28, 1951 in Baytown, Texas. He passed from this life October 24, 2012 at the age of 60 years, 11 months and 26 days. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patti Hughes Edwards and son Travis Cahill Edwards and wife Liz of Conroe, Texas, daughter Tara Naomi Vines and husband Tim of Arlington, Texas, and daughter Talaya Danielle Trout and husband Joel of Cleveland, Texas. His grandchildren include Carson and Raelynn Edwards and Kenny, Connor and Asher Trout. Bill is also survived by his brothers Paul Wayne Edwards of Shepherd, Texas and Bobby Joe Edwards of Tarkington Prairie, Texas. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. (Blackie) and Rose Stemberger Edwards. Bill worked as a painter for a number of years before embracing a 25 year teaching career on a Navajo Reservation in Kayenta, Arizona. Always loyal to his native Texas, Bill often interjected a bit of Texas history in his 8th grade social studies curriculum, even to making sure there was a Texas flag displayed in his classroom. During this time, Bill also preached and taught numerous Bible Studies in his home. Never one to meet a stranger, Bill will be remembered by a vast number of friends and relatives. He leaves behind a heritage of strong faith and courage. Even in the face of prolonged suffering and difficult circumstances, Bill never failed to give hope to those with whom God placed in his path. His signature question, “Is there something I can pray with you about?” let everyone know his focus was first of all on a loving God, and secondly on the wellbeing of others. Visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, October 28, 2012, 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Russell Tynan will preside over funeral services being held Monday, October 29, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 400 W. Hanson Sr., Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas. Pallbearers include Brett Williams, Cullen Edwards, Jace Edwards, Rollie Norman, Tim Vines, and Jason Bell.
