HODNETT
Kathren Gazetta Hodnett, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011. She was born August 3, 1925 in Stamps, Arkansas to parents, Essie and Theadore Hodnett who preceded her in death along with her sister and brother-in-law, Winnie and Robert Vandalen; sister and brother-in-law, Love and Sam Lee; brother-in-law, Clay Holcomb; nephews, David Lee, Gary Lee, Rodney Holcomb, Kevin Holcomb, Timothy Holcomb; and her niece, Kim Vandalen.
The family moved to Houston from Arkansas in Kathren’s early years. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School in Houston then found employment with the Texas Employment Commission and retired after many years of service. Being the oldest, Kathren always felt very close to her family. She had a passion for shopping and found great joy in traveling. She will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished her.
Survivors include her sisters, Pat Holcomb and Carol Warren and husband, Bob; nephews, Ronald Warren, Robert Warren, Stephen Vandalen, Richard Holcomb; nieces, Jennifer Dabney, Kelly Weaver, Vicki Popp, Judi Slaughter, Jan Spivey, and Cheryl Wilson; and a host of faithful friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011, 5:00–9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Tim Delany will preside over funeral services being held 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, with interment at Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, Texas. Pallbearers include Bob Warren, Kevin Weaver, Ronald Warren, Marsh Warren, Stephen Vandalen, and Robert Dabney.
