Katherine Ann Brady

Katherine Ann Westbrook Brady, 87, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, in Pasadena, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. Kathy was born on December 8, 1935, in Houston, Texas, to the late John D. Westbrook and Effie May Westbrook. As a young woman, she moved to Pasadena and later settled in Kenefick, Texas, where she lived for 12 years before returning to Pasadena, the place she called home.

Kathy dedicated many years of her life as the Superintendent of the Maintenance Department for a Pasadena ISD elementary school. Her dedication and hard work left an indelible mark on the community she served. She was not just an employee; she was a beloved figure, a mentor, and a friend to many.

Beyond her professional life, Kathy was known for her passions and talents. She had a green thumb and found immense joy in gardening, creating a haven of beauty in her yard that was admired by all who saw it. She had an insatiable love for literature, particularly westerns, and spent countless hours immersed in the pages of her favorite books.

Cooking was another art form where Kathy truly shined. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in preparing Sunday dinners and holiday feasts for her family. These moments, spent around the table, became cherished memories for her loved ones, and her cooking became a symbol of love and togetherness.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie May Westbrook, her sons Dee Roy Tumlinson II and Terry Dean Tumlinson, her brother Joseph Henry May, her sister-in-law Elaine Westbrook, and brother-in-law Clifton Wedgeman. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her surviving family members: sons Steve Tumlinson and wife Dora, Roger Tumlinson; brother, Sonny Westbrook, sister Deanna Wedgeman; grandchildren Dee Roy "Trey" Tumlinson III, Cady Richardson and husband Dustin, Heather Gassen; great-grandchildren Denver Richardson and Landon Tumlinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

A graveside service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington, Texas. The service will be led by Mark Robinson and is under the compassionate care of Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
