After a brief bout with cancer, Karl Jack Griffin originally of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 leaving behind his wife Fran Rice Griffin of Cleveland, TX. Other Texas survivors include his daughter Suzette Brewer, son-in-law Bob Brewer, grandchildren Matthew and Taylor Brewer, mother-in-law Gladys Ellisor Rice as well as other Rice and Ellisor family members. He is also survived by sister Judy Carter and his niece and nephew Meghan and Robert Carter of Eagle River, Alaska as well as his cousins Josephine Douglas and Mary Jo Kiernan and other family members in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Karl Jack is preceded in death by his father Herman Griffin, mother Angela Griffin, brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Carter and father-in-law J.C. Rice. Fran and Karl Jack were married on January 1, 1976 and lived in Houston, TX for over 30 years before moving to Cleveland to be close to Fran’s mother Gladys. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the chapel at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crockett Street, Cleveland, TX 77327. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Karl Jack’s name to the American Cancer Society at a special fundraising page established in his honor at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/KarlJack.
