Karen Tippit Glass, 81, of Sugarland passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her son’s home. Karen was born November 17, 1938 in Liberty, Texas to parents Nona and Morgan Tippit.
Mrs. Glass was a longtime resident of the Houston area but spent her younger years in Dayton. She attended Dayton Schools and was a member of the 1956 graduating class. Karen participated in many school activities and was a member of Rainbow Girls. She attended University of Houston. Karen worked with her husband Leo in their oil and gas business for many years. She attended the Episcopal Church in Houston and was a member of their Alter Guild. Karen loved her family and always enjoyed family gathering especially being with her grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 62 years, Leo Glass. She is survived by sons, Paul Glass and wife Janet and David Glass and wife Celeste; grandchildren, Jennifer Glass McKellop and husband Rick, Paul Michael Glass and wife Julie, Allyson Glass and husband Fahri Erkenekl, Susannah Thomas and husband Harrison, Andrew Glass and wife Amelia and Allen Glass and wife Ana; 13 great-grandchildren, Addison, Leo, Lilly, Ricky, Anna Belle, Evie, Ela, Eren, Taner, Jeremiah, Turner, Leah, and Gabriel; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Glass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
