Justin Lee Pitchford, 25, of Dayton died Monday, January 10, 2011 in Houston. He was born July 24, 1985 in Houston to parents, Elward Pitchford and Teresa Minton Pitchford. Justin graduated from Deer Park High School in 2003, enjoyed the computer and socializing with his friends, especially by texting. He had lived in Dayton for the past 6 years and worked for Neal Construction. During his illness Justin ministered to other patients at MD Anderson.
Services for Justin will be 12 noon, Friday, January 14, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton with Pastor Roger Towe officiating. Interment will follow 2:00 p.m., Friday at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena. Pallbearers are Marcus Minton, Brandon Minton, Edward Johnson, Josh Yohey, and Brett Ballinger. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Favors and Terry Minton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Justin was preceded in death by his father: Elward Pitchford; step-father: Brad Benge: and grandfathers: John Minton and James Pitchford. He is survived by his mother and step-father: Teresa Minton Favor and Larry of Dayton; brother: Shane Pitchford of Dallas; sisters: Angela Pitchford of Dayton and Sarah Pitchford and Josh Yohey of Dayton; step-sisters: Lana Ballinger Justin of Dayton and Mandy Atkins and John of Tennessee; grandmothers: Era Minton of Dayton and Dorothy Pitchford of Waller; uncle and aunt: Terry and Robbie Minton of Pasadena; girlfriend: Amber Gene of Dayton; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
