Joy Elaine Mizell, age 72 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was born December 30, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Claude and Carolyn Levy Roberts who preceded her in death along with her sisters, Julia Franklin and Lillian Lukaszewski; and grandchild, Bradlee Trevathan.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Doyle Mizell; daughters, Robin Trevathan and John McCoy, Kimberly Sims and husband Michael Sims, Sr.; sisters, Blanche Chipman, Helen Shaw, Claudine Eckler and Dorothy Zullo; brother, Claude Roberts; grandchildren, Justin Trevathan, Amanda Trevathan, Michael Sims, Jr., Kody Sims and Skylar Sims; great-grandchildren, Destiny Sims, Hazel Sims, Korbin Ogg and Kyle Ogg; numerous family and friends.
Joy was the owner of D&J Sandwich Shop. She was a woman of great faith, a devoted wife and mother, and had a love for flowers.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Evergreen, Texas.
