Joseph Winson Smesny, 29, of Pasadena, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, near Bolivar, Texas. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial following at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Joseph was born July 20, 1982 in Houston, to parents; Joseph H. and Andrea Jenkins Smesny. Joseph was a former resident of Kingwood, and has resided in Pasadena for the past six years. He was a marine analyst for Marine Systems, Inc., attended Humble High School and Universal Technical Institute, member of St. Clair of Assisi Catholic Church, and an Eagle Scout. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, photography, ranching, S.C.U.B.A., and racing. The only thing bigger than Joseph’s smile, was the size of his heart. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, and brother. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joe F. Smesny and Ervie Winson Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of four years: Katy Whitlow Smesny of Pasadena, son: Joseph Charles Smesny of Pasadena, his daughter on the way, parents: Joseph H. and Andrea Jenkins Smesny of Kingwood, sister: Lauren Smesny Wade and husband Trey of Ft. Worth, parents-in-law: Phil and Pat Whitlow of Deer Park, grandmothers: Marveline Smesny of Eastgate and Inez Jenkins of Houston, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
