COFFIELD Joseph W. Coffield, 88, of Cleveland, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Plantation Assisted Living Center in Porter. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the Peace Tabernacle Church in Cleveland with burial following at the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Joseph was born December 2, 1924 in Fostoria, to parents; Joseph P. and Pearl Lee McAdams Coffield, and has resided in the Cleveland area throughout his life. He was a retired supervisor, a former custodian for the Splendora I.S.D., and a member of the Peace Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed church activities, reading his bible, and gardening. Mr. Coffield was preceded in death by his father: Joseph P. Coffield, mother: Pearl Lee McAdams Coffield. Wife of 48 years: Maudie L. Rutherford Carr-Coffield, son: Johny Coffield, two brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter: Judy Shaw and husband William of MO, brother: James Coffield of Cleveland, grandchildren: Gordon Shaw of Ft. Worth, Karen Whatley, Jerry Sweeten, Levearl Sweeten, John Sweeten, great-grandchildren: Cody Shaw, Casey Shaw, Timothy Shaw, Sabrina Dawson, and Tabitha Frazier, great great-grandchildren: Brooklynn Elizabeth Shaw and Raylan Norris Dawson, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
