Joseph Shearer

Joseph Norman Shearer, age 82, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born in Galveston, Texas on July 21, 1928 to Edward C. and Iva Shearer who preceded him in death along with his loving wife, Mary Alice Shearer; son, Monty Shearer, granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Shearer; brothers, Doug Shearer and Jerome Shearer. Survivors include his sons, Joseph Shearer Jr., Ronald Shearer and Dorothy Davis; daughter, Shelly Slade and husband, David; grandchildren, Angela Shearer Martin and husband, Casey, DeAndra Shearer, Shawna Winter and husband, Walter, Kenneth Shearer and wife, Chelsea, Bobby Joe Shearer and wife, Heather, Cheryl Jolly and husband, Chad, Ashley Shearer; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Colt Slade, Haydin and Frank Martin, Hunter and Hayden Fountain, Kaesyn Winter, Chase and Cole Jolly, Caleb Shearer, Peyton Shearer, Madison and Jace Shearer; daughter-in-law, Marie Shearer, Terri Taylor; sisters, JoAnn Nelson, Norma Miller and husband, Darryl; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years. Bro. Melvin Holifield will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, August 21, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers include Steve Owens, Billy Ray Jones, Casey Martin, Roger Tarrent, Billy Baucom, and Ricky Adams.
