Joseph Lewis Kuykendall

Joseph Lewis Kuykendall, born on May 8, 1953, in Talladega, Alabama, to Magnolia Braden Johnson passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Magnolia as well as his son, James Ray (Jimbo) Kuykendall; and his brother, Kurtis Lynn Kuykendall.  He is survived by his wife of 17 years Kathleen Kuykendall; granddaughter Jessica Kuykendall and fiancé Colton Bennett and their daughters Lylah and Lainey Bennett.  He is also survived by stepson, Christopher O’Hara and wife Tina; stepdaughter, Dawn Cardoza and husband Thomas; 5 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Joe was a jack-of-all-trades and could build anything out of wood or metal.  He enjoyed team roping, hog hunting, caring for his cows, and running the roads with his beloved dog Weezee by his side.  When weather permitted, you could find Joe sitting around a fire enjoying a cold beer and telling stories.

To honor Joe’s life, a celebration of life will be held November 11^th, 2023 at his home located at 691 Lilley Gilbert Road, Cleveland, Texas 77328 from noon until 6pm. All family and friends are invited to stop by and reminisce in Joe’s memory.
