Joseph Michael “Mike” Janczak was born November 5, 1948 in Houston, Texas to parents Louis and Louise Janczak. He passed away at his home in Tarkington on January 20, 2025 at the age of 76.
Mike was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved collecting firearms and fishing rods and reels. He was a lover of good deals. When someone would ask him if something was a “good deal”, Mike’s favorite saying was “if you think it’s a good deal, then it’s a good deal.” One of Mike’s gifts was his ability to fix anything from cars to air-conditioners to washing machines and this came in handy with such a large family. His wife often said “Mikey can fix anything.”
He was a loving husband and provider and a great father who enjoyed his time at home with his family. He shared his heart with many children over the years and never complained once about supporting any of them. He cared about each and every one as though they were his biological children, adopted children or foster children. He coached little league football and baseball for the boys and encouraged them to be good men. A very large part of his life was spent caring for children in the foster care system along with his wife, Dana.
Mike worked as a foreman for Brown & Root, Inc. in his early career, then he was offered a position working for Ingersoll-Rand. He spent 20+ years with them until they sold to Volvo equipment company. He spent the remainder of his years working for Volvo as a regional heavy equipment supervisor. He enjoyed his work.
Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Louise Janczak and his son, Jordan Matthew Janczak. He is survived by his wife Dana Janczak; children Jon Janczak, Christopher Janczak, Kelley Janczak, Grant (Alex) Janczak, Nicholas Janczak, Noah Janczak, Wyatt Janczak, Nathanael Janczak; foster daughters Michelle Scott, and Anna Rebecca Williams; grandchildren Douglas Bauer, Kennedy and Presley Hansen, Jacob, Joshua and Aiden Janczak, Alexandra (Ally) Janczak, Jordan and Kyler Janczak; foster grandson Warren Copus; great-granddaughter Charlotte Janczak; brothers Charles (Chuck) Janczak and David Janczak; nephews Justin and Jarred Griffin, Tony Janczak; niece Jamie Zolan; aunt Bernice Barclay.
