Jose Osvaldo Zavala, Jr., 20, of Dayton, passed away on October 8, 2021 in Houston. Jose was born April 19, 2001 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to parents Jose Jesus Zavala, Sr. and Jinnen Renteria Zavala.
Jose was a resident of Dayton since 2012 and a former resident of Colorado. He was a 2019 graduate of Dayton High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the Bronco Band and did concession stand duty for varsity games. Jose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an alter server. He had attended 3 years at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Jose was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juana Mares and Fernando Zavala. He is survived by parents, Jesus and Jinnen Zavala; grandparents, Celia Urias and Gregorio Renteria; sister, Azeneth Zavala; numerous relatives and friends.
Services for Jose will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at St. Joseph’s The Worker Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with rosary at 7:00 p.m.
