John Duncan Rosser, Jr.

John Duncan Rosser, Jr., a beloved father and volunteer, passed away on June 9,2024, in Dayton, at the age of 59. He was born on October 31, 1964, in Baytown. John will always be remembered for love of music, passion for collecting various items, enthusiasm for building model cars, and his love for spontaneous road trips, the outdoors, and fishing.


 

In his youth, John attended Baytown Ross S. Sterling High School and graduated with the class of 1983. He explored many fields of work before settling on a career as a correctional officer.  He remained devoted to serving his community and was the first to lend a helping hand to his neighbors.

 

Throughout his life, John held a special place in his heart for Thicket, where he resided for many years before making Dayton his home for the last four years.

 

John is survived by his two sons, Ryan Rosser and Dylan Rosser. Ryan's wife Elanie and grandson Ian also cherish John's memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Duncan Rosser, Sr., Melinda Clark, as well as his sister Susanne Rosser and his step-father Elmo Rosier.

 

Among those grieving is the mother of his children, Kim Stewart and her husband Greg.

 

John Duncan Rosser, Jr., will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
