John Lewis Puckett, age 89, and a resident of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born April 23, 1925 in Conroe, Texas to parents, Floyd Puckett and Ruth DeVault Puckett.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Leon Puckett; and grandson, Ronnie Dale Puckett. He was a welder and a crane hoist operator. He worked for Tennessee Gas and Union Tank Car. John served during World War II in the United States Army. He loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include his loving wife, Louise Foxworth Puckett; son, Billy Puckett and Lynetta; daughter-in-law, Tana Puckett; sister, Bettye Earline Nichols and Kenneth; sister-in-law, Lucille Taylor; grandchildren, Steven Puckett, Stacy Harp(Ben), Kimberly Palmer(Billy White), Alyssa Puckett(Tim Kimbrough), Jaybo &Shona Turner, BJ and Tristan Williamson, Tyler and Payton White; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Hayley, Lauren, Stephanie, and Elizabeth; numerous nieces, nephews, family members and faithful friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services Wednesday, November 26, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Montague Cemetery.
