John F. Burns, Jr., 60, of Dayton, died Saturday, August 17, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding in the chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. John was born March 20, 1953 in Ft. Hood, to parents; John F., Sr. and Joyce “Bobby†Headley Burns, a former resident of Channelview, and has resided in Dayton for the past 25 years. He was a former mechanic for Linco, heavy equipment operator, truck driver, and member of the WWW Trail Riders. He also enjoyed horses, playing pool, and bowling. Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his father: John F. Burns, Sr., mother: Joyce “Bobby†Headley Burns, and brother: Leslie D. Burns. He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Cheryl Sexton Burns of Dayton, children: Tina Burns Jordan and husband Anthony of Crosby, John F. Burns, III of Dayton, Michael Shane Bunch and wife Anna of Cibolo, Joseph A. Burns and wife Tiffaney of Dayton, and Mary Ann Burns of Dayton, sister: Deborah Crabbe and husband Ray of Seabrook, brother: James E. Burns of Dayton, grandchildren: Christopher K. Burns, Anthony Burns, John F. Burns, IV, Brent Burns, Cameron Sorenson, Delaynie Trussell, Haylie Burns, D.J. Bunch, Matthew Jordan, David Jordan, and L. Dale Burns, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
