John E. "Jack" Mcmillan

July 13, 1925 — September 3, 2014

John E (Jack) McMillan, 89, of Moss Hill, Texas, formerly from Monaca, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord September 3, 2014 at his home in Moss Hill, Texas. He was born July 13, 1925 and was the son of the late John H.E. McMillan and Pauline (Fischer) McMillan of Monaca. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Theresa R. McMillan, his son, John E McMillan Jr. (Mickey), his daughter, Kathleen R McMillan and a sister-in-law, Cecilia Barrett. Jack is survived by his sister,Catherine McMillan,Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Patti Dicianna and husband Terry, The Villages, FL, Debbie Cain and husband Randy, Moss Hill, TX; grandchildren. Kristen Dicianna, San Antonio, TX, Kevin Dicianna and wife Tammy,Draper,UT, Buddy Covalt and wife Ashley, Hopwell, PA, Monica Weis, Lexington, TX, Kathleen McMillan, Center, PA, Danny McMillan and wife Angela, Douglasville, GA, Cody Cain and wife Bethany, Moss Hill, TX, Karli Cain, Kountz, TX; great grandchildren, Hayleigh Dicianna, Hunter Dymock, Kelsea & Jillian Dicianna, Alana & Jaxsen Covalt, Cody Mason & John Clyde Cain, and Nicolas Zapsic; sisters-in-law, Margaret Patterson and Gertrude Mellott; also other family members and friends. Jack was a WWII Vet proudly serving in the United States Navy. Following discharge he found employment with Arco Chemical of Potter Twp. where he retired after 35 years of service. Jack was born, raised and lived in Monaca for 80 years before moving to Texas. He was a life time member of the Beaver Valley Sportsman’s Club, Monaca, served for over 30 years with the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, Pennsylvania Game Commission Beaver County, Beaver County Sportsman Conservation League and was a member of the Beaver Valley Police Revolver League. He was a long time Pennsylvania Hunter Educational coordinator and instructor and he was heavily involved with the Beaver County Youth Field Days. Jack was an avid reader. He and wife Theresa sponsored a brick at the Monaca Memorial Library. He continued his love for reading in Texas at The Liberty Municipal Library. He loved history, westerns, military and police novels. Jack was a history buff and loved to talk about US history, Pennsylvania history and his adopted state of Texas history. Jack’s other passion was his motorcycles. He toured 49 states only missing out on Alaska. He talked of the history and told travel stories often about each state visited. In his late golden years he maintained his sense of riding mastering a John Deere Z720A zero turn mower and took great pride in keeping 4 acres absolutely beautiful. He was affectionately known as “The Lawn Ranger!” At a later date a private ceremony will be held by the family.
