John D. “Dean” Caple, 77, of Dayton, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Dean was born June 13, 1934 in Fayette Township, IA, to parents; John Lloyd and Ina R. Van Deventer Caple, a former resident of Illinois, and has resided in Dayton for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of the Yale High School class of 1952, obtained college credit and veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, a retired airline pilot for Eastern Airlines after 27 years of employment, and former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He also enjoyed the computer, carpentry, dancing, bowling, and needle point.
Mr. Caple was preceded in death by his parents, brother: David Wilcox, and sister: Sue Ford. He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Veronika S. Schueller Caple of Dayton, daughters: Ina Mae Savage and husband Earl, II of Sarasota, FL, Susanna Brown and husband Dan of Finley, OH, and Ulrike Harvey of Dayton, sons: Jess Caple and wife Janet of Daisetta and Dirk Caple and wife Jennie of Livingston, brother: Terry Huston of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, grandchildren: Timothy Brown, Ashley Brown, Tyler Harvey, Dareone Dool, Travis Caple, Bryce Caple, and Isaac Dool, great-grandchildren: Tristan and Lizzie, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
