Joel Columbus Love, Jr., age 65 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born July 18, 1950 in Huntsville, Texas to parents Joel C. Love, Sr. and Ynette West Love who preceded him in death along with his wife of 15 years, Sharon Kay Hickman Love; and sister, Patricia Worthen.
He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his beloved dogs. Throughout his life he held several important positions, some of which were Air Traffic Controller at Ellington Field as well as a Deputy for San Jacinto County. He was also an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Coldspring and the American Legion Post #629 chaplain and Sgt. at Arms.
Survivors include his son, Joel Love, III of Pasadena, Texas; daughter, Robin Murray and husband Lucas of Deer Park, Texas; step-daughter, Deanna Robb and husband John of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, Shena and Logan; great-grandchild, Connor; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Coldspring, Texas.
