Joe Lynn Mcadams

Joe Lynn McAdams, age 74, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012. He was born April 14, 1938 in San Jacinto County, Texas to parents George Elmore McAdams and Molly Lilley McAdams who preceded him in death along with 5 brothers and 1 sister. Joe was born the seventh son of the McAdams family, raised in San Jacinto County, graduated from Coldspring High School, and was known as a great receiver for the 6-man football team. He was a retired Houston Firefighter, and a local road builder and contractor. He was a big worker in the Democratic Party and loved to barbecue for political events. He loved to hunt and fish and garden with his grandson was known to all of his friends as Brandon's Poppa.Survivors include his loving wife Maxine Murry McAdams; sons Richard McAdams and Dennis McAdams both of Crosby, Texas; brother Alton McAdams of Highlands, Texas; grandson Brandon Padgett of Tomball, Texas; step-children Curtis, Karen, John, and Janet of Houston and Tomball, Texas area; numerous nieces and nephews and lots of really good friends.Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas.
