Joe David Allums

Joe David Allums, Sr., age 87 of New Caney, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was born June 11, 1928 to Joseph Franklin Allums and Opal Lucille Allums in Carthage, Texas. He moved to Marshall at the age of 15 and worked at the T. P. Raliroad yard as a machinist. He also worked at Merry Time Products as manager, Fab Steel, and E. Baker Associates. He retired from Merry Time Products. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Conroe; a devoted believer in God, husband and father.He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Opal Lucille Allums; daughters, Virginia Lucille, Sherry Briggs and Joy Slone; brother, George Morris Allums and wife June; sisters, Helen McClure and husband Willie, EvaNell Brooks and husband Reece; brother-in-law, Lloyd Rhyne; niece, Laura Rodriges; nephews, Robert Rhyne and Jimmy McClure; and step-son, Ray Sistrunk. Surviving loved ones include his wife, Melba Allums; daughter, Susie Lehman and husband Allen; sons, Joe David Allums, II and Joe David Allums, III and wife Vickie; sister, Martha Rhyne; step-children, Walter Lee Sistrunk and wife Ann, Ervin Eugene Sistrunk, and Janet Lynell Fulcher and husband Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Ann Sistrunk; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Rehobeth Cemetery, Carthage, Texas.
