Jo Anne Reeves Thornton, 80, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at a family residence in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jo Anne was born February 5, 1935 in Old River to parents; Ellis W. Monk and Willie Mae Dugat Reeves, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and gardening.

Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her parents and husband: J.L. Thornton. She is survived by her son: James Eaton, Jr. and wife Lori of Liberty, daughters: Joan Johnson of Dayton, Tania Glover of Baytown, and Melanie Sanders of Dayton, two brothers, five sisters, grandchildren: Jennifer Steadham, Jeff Johnson, Kari LaFargue, Marc Anthony Glover, Kaci Miles, Todd Sanders, and Tyler Sanders, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
