Jimmy Lee Pate passed away at home on Thursday June 23, 2016 with loved ones at his bedside. The family takes great comfort knowing he is at home with our Lord and Savior Jesus.
He was born in Cleveland, Texas, September 16, 1946 and grew up in Splendora, Texas. Early in life he became a skilled carpenter and enjoyed a long career at his craft. Also, at an early age he became an avid hunter and fisherman. In 2000 he moved to Coldspring to build his home on an inlet of the lake, enabling him to spend many hours on or near the water. He was a strong, quiet, but gentle man who had much wisdom and knowledge and he loved the Lord. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and loved to be surrounded by them. He was a wonderful husband, father and PawPaw who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Wilson and Flossie Bell Chapman Pate, and sister Saline Pearl Pate Fulcher.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Christine “Teeda” Pate; son, Jimmy Lee Pate, Jr. and wife Billie; daughters, Beverly Sue Clark and husband David, Lorinda Lee “Lori” Stone and husband Roger, Shauna Marie Henry and husband Robert; step-daughter, Christine Callaway and husband John; step-son, Bobby Collins and wife Kisha; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas.
Pastor Zack Currie will officiate his home going service. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Curtis Stone, Hunter Stone, Dustin Meadows, Taylor Clark, Toby Clark, and nephew Ricky Lamb.
