Jessie Victoria Sessum Holifield, 78, of Splendora, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Morgan Cemetery in Splendora. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Jessie was born April 4, 1937 in Ellisville, Mississippi, to parents; Ruby and Velma Walters Sessum, and has resided in Splendora for the past 57 years. She was a retired bus driver from Splendora I.S.D., member of the Splendora First Baptist Church, and organized the Splendora Golden Age Club. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and especially family. Mrs. Holifield was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: R.V., Bill, Charles, and Johnny Sessum. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Marvin Holifield of Splendora, sons: Otis Holifield and wife Debbie of Hempstead and Darrell Holifield and wife Kathy of Splendora, daughter: Vickie Ward and husband J. L. of Splendora, brothers: Jimmy Sessum of Splendora and Cecil Sessum and wife Delores of Mississippi, sisters: Carrie Powell of Mississippi and Ruby Jordan and husband Bill of Tomball, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way, one great great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
