Jerry Otis Meekins, age 81 of Cleveland, Texas passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was born June 8, 1939 in Houston, Texas to parents John Otis and Dora Meekins who preceded him in death along with his wife, Tillie Ann Meekins; son, Otis Gambill Meekins; sister, Mary Elizabeth Settle; grandson, Tommy Beavers; and great-grandson, Greyson McCool.
Jerry was a handyman who loved to hunt and fish in his younger years. Spending time with his family brought him much joy in his life. Jerry was a kind and giving man who was always there for other people. He was famous for his banana pudding. Above all else, he loved his late wife Tillie more than anything. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Craig Olin Meekins and wife Jill, Donald Brian Meekins and wife Deawyn, Andy Wells and wife Kristi, Keith McMullen and wife Amy; daughter, Melodie Gonzales and husband Eddie; brother, Charles Curtis Meekins and wife Wendy; sisters, Julia Russell and husband Leland, and Patsy Seifert; grandchildren, Eric Meekins, Steffanie Meekins, Phillip Meekins, Brandi Beavers and fiancé Trent Lauve, Daniel McCool and wife Kimberly, and Kayla McCool; great-grandchildren, Lily Ann McCool, Elena McCool, Faye Marie McCool, and Daniel Raymond McCool, III.; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Montague Church of Christ, 15151 FM 1725, Cleveland, TX 77328.
