Jerry Lee Morris, 70, of Dayton passed away, Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Baytown, Texas.
Visitation for Jerry will be 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, Thursday, September 22, 2016
at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Dayton with Rev. Garry Masterson officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Jerry was born January 12, 1946 in Liberty, Texas to parents, Wayne Edward Morris and Anna Marie Feik Morris. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. Jerry attended Dayton High School, graduating in 1964 and continuing his education at Lee College. He had previously worked at Walmart for 28 years in maintenance. He enjoyed television, the Olympics, sports, reading his newspaper and crossword puzzles.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Ronald E. Chance. He is survived by his sister, Pat Chance and husband Lloyd of Woodville; nephew, Patrick Chance and wife Geneva Might; nieces, Stephanie Scoggan and husband Tim and Robin Rayburn and husband Matt; eight great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle, Virgil and Harriet Shellenberger and Jean Adams; other relatives and friends.
