Jerry Leon Blanscet, 87 of Dayton went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 22, 2107.
Service for Jerry will be10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Shane officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Pace-Stancil.
Jerry was born May 1, 1 0930 in McCamey, Texas to parents Nathaniel Fain Blanscet and Mary Nolen Blanscet. He attended schools in Ingleside, Cedar Bayou, Southwestern Junior College, Lee Junior College, SMU Industries School of Management and Texas A&M Fire Schools. Jerry served in the United States Air Force where he was an instructor at Shepard Air Force Base. He worked for many years in Oil and Gas, and with his wife owned the Living Word Bookstore in Liberty. He also worked for Keating Ford, M&B Used Cars, and BJ Ford before retiring.
Mr. Blanscet served as Deacon in the Kenefick Baptist Church, played bass in the church band as well as several other gospel bands. In 1993 he became a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dayton where he has continued his membership. Jerry and his wife Merle raised their family and were longtime residents of Dayton. They were married for over 60 years. Jerry loved his family and will be truly missed by all that knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Merle Blanscet; son, Jerry Dale Blanscet; brothers, Bennie Blanscet, J.R. Blanscet and Lawrence Blanscet; and his great-granddaughter, Bristol Reynolds.
He is survived by his son, Jody Blanscet and wife Terry of Kenefick; his brother, Joel Don Blanscet of Sulton, Washington; grandchildren, Matt Blanscet, Sara Williams and husband Beau, and Beth Reynolds and husband Bodie; great-grandchildren, Ty Williams, Ainsley Williams, Brittyn Reynolds and Blair Reynolds; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
