Jean Gordy

Jean Gordy, age 76, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was born October 20, 1934 in Hope, Arkansas to William Frank and Della Harrell who preceded her in death along with her husband, Donald Gordy; brother, William D. Harrell. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Coldspring, Texas. She worked 39 years with Houston Lighting and Power and 15 years with the Coldspring/Oakhurst Independent School District before finally retiring. Survivors include his daughter, Shelia Isaacks and husband, James “Mickey”of Coldspring, TX; son, Ronnie Johnston and wife, Michelle of Spring Branch, TX; sister, Francis Robertson of Emory, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa Bolinger of Dayton, TX, Christi Freshour of Pasadena, TX, Austin Johnston of Crosby, TX, Laura Anderson of Pearland, TX, Derrick Jones of Spring, TX, Damon Jones of Spring, TX, and Brenna Jones of Spring, TX; great-grandchildren, Sarah Freshour, Aaron Freshour, Damon Jones Jr., Jacob Freshour, Grace Bolinger, Cobi Sangster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends beyond measure. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Bro. Mike Minter will preside over funeral services being held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Coldspring, Texas with interment immediately following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas. Pallbearers include Robert Elledge, David Sangster, Eugene Elledge, Eddie Bolinger, Thomas Michaels, and Jacob “Bubba” Mueller.
