Janet LaVerne Shelton Magnon, 60, of Cleveland passed away July 26, 2014. She was born March 20, 1954 in Houston, Texas to parents, Kenneth Eugene Shelton and Patricia LaNell Wareham Shelton. Janet had lived in Cleveland the past ten years after moving from Louisiana where she had lived for over twenty-five years. Services for Mrs. Magnon will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, Coldspring with Brother Mike Minter officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Coldspring. Mrs. Magnon was preceded in death by her mother: Patricia Shelton; grandparents: John Howard and Addie Shelton, Charles and Ivy Wareham. She is survived by her husband of 38 years: Henry “Hank†Magnon of Cleveland; father: Kenneth Shelton; mother-in-law: Pauline “MeMe†Magnon who was like her mother; daughters: Tonya Gahn and husband Ted of Jena, Louisiana, Kelli Cruz & husband Edgar “Eddie†Cruz of Porter; sister: Sheila Reynaud; brothers: Kenneth Wayne Shelton and wife, Shelly of Bedfort and Jeremy Shelton and wife, Nicole of Montgomery; grandchildren: Tanner Gahn, and Gentry Cruz; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
