Jan Leah Jeffcoat, age 64 and a resident of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at her home. Jan was born October 12, 1948 in Sayre, Oklahoma to parents Avery and Evelyn Cockran who preceded her in death along with her grandparents. She was a graduate of Putham High School in Oklahoma. Jan was blessed with grace, beauty, and strength; she was loving, tender hearted, and deeply devoted to her family. She was a dedicated Christian and member of Shepherd Church of Christ. She cared and loved for everyone she came in contact with. She retired from Southwest Bell after 30+ years of service; she also retired from Goehrs Properties. She was a juried potter and had a passion for gardening, painting, reading. She won numerous awards from Kingwood College in pottery and ceramics. She had a soft place in her heart for her grandchildren Shelby and Riley as well as all her K-9 companions, especially Baylee, Cookie and Crickett. She made and donated hats and wraps to cancer patients she came in contact with during her own cancer treatments. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her loving husband of 24 years, Dee Jeffcoat; daughter, Leigh Ann Moore and husband Chuck; brother Joe Cochran and wife Mary; grandchildren, Shelby Moore and Riley Moore; nephews, Ken Jeffcoat and Ron Jeffcoat; nieces, Linda DeGraw and LaVera Kelly; cousin, Gwen Cooper; and many other special relatives and faithful friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 05, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Big Creek Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m. prior to funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in Pace-Stancil Chapel.
