James Roland Wilkerson, age 70, and a resident of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was born October 25, 1942 in Monette, Arkansas to parents William Thomas and Thelma Wilkerson. He is preceded in death by his father; and his son Roland Wayne Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was a 35 year Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War; a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his mother Thelma Bowers; sisters Dianne Neidigk and husband Dale, Betty Jo Wager and husband Gary, Darlene Wilkerson; grandchildren Candler Lucas, Mackenzie Alderson; great-grandchild Ryleigh Ann Alderson; niece Tami Shane; nephews Scott Neidigk, Lance Neidigk and Byron Neidigk; special friends Tom and Cindy Lucas; sixteen grandnieces and grandnephews; four great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and many other cherished family members and faithful friends. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, October 31, 2013, 6:00-9:00 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 01, 2013, Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with Pastor Glen Mead, Quanidos McGowen and Bill Grice officiating. Interment will follow at Splendora City Cemetery, Splendora, Texas. Pallbearers include Tom Lucas, Scott Neidigk, Lance Neidigk, Byron Neidigk, Blake Book, and Ryan Book; and honorary pallbearer Candler Lucas.
