James “Jimmy†Thomas Tadlock, 78 of Dayton died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Houston. Jimmy was born February 20, 1935 in Dayton to parents Donald Hubert Tadlock and Ruth Buchanan Tadlock. He was a lifelong resident of Dayton, graduating from Dayton High in 1953 and attended the University of Texas where he played Longhorn football and was a member of the UT Alumni Association. Jimmy was retired from Texaco where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had previous served on the board. He coached little league, enjoyed fishing, sports and most of all loved being with family especially his grandchildren. Services for Mr. Tadlock will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. E. B. Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Linney Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. James and Mattie Tadlock, and Jim and Belle Buchanan, his parents Donald and Ruth Tadlock, sister Mattie Kathryn Tadlock and great nephew Paul Brand. He is survived by daughter: Tammy Landrum and husband Carl of Dayton; son: Jay Tadlock and wife Kimberly of Spring; grandchildren: Allison Landrum, Matthew Landrum and wife Kristina, Luke Landrum, Bobbi Stanberry and husband Brad, and Scott Udell and wife Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Conner, Tyler, Kaitlyn, and Thomas, sister: Donnette Brand and husband Travis; nephew: Kenneth Brand and wife Kathy; niece: Donna Potetz and husband John Paul; great nephews: Marcus Brand and wife Sine, John Potetz & wife Jodie, Drew Potetz and Cullen Potetz; special pet: Bella; numerous other relatives and friends.
