James Street, 80, of Willow Springs passed away October 6, 2015 at MRC Creekside in Huntsville. James is survived by a loving family including his wife, Betty Street of Willow Springs; three children, Ginger Jenke and her husband Gary of Willow Springs; Brad Street and his wife Kim of Willow Springs; and Kenneth Street and his wife Vicky of Oakhurst; his six grandchildren, Hannah Williams and husband Craig of Livingston; Adam Jenke and wife Mary of Coldspring; Casey Street and wife Jessica of Waterwood; Savannah Golson and husband Seth of Willow Springs; Kelsey Quintanilla and husband David of Porter; Mycahla Street of Oakhurst; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Jenke of Coldspring; Claire Quintanilla of Porter; sister, Lizzie Mae Barnes of Willow Springs; and best friend, Dean Jones of Coldspring. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Aggie Mae Street of Willow Springs. James was born in Willow Springs to Elbert and Aggie Mae Carter Street. He graduated from Coldspring High School and Sam Houston State Teachers College. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Cowart in 1955 in Willow Springs. James worked for Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD for many years and retired in 1989. He was a mechanic at heart and loved working on equipment. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas. Interment will follow at Carter Family Cemetery, Willow Springs Community, Coldspring,Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Coldspring or Carter Cemetery Fund – please make check payable to Gary Jenke, or to the charity of one’s choice.
