James Robert Sevier, 89, was born to Macon Green Sevier and Mae A. Dorsey Sevier in Haynesville, Louisiana on May 3, 1926. At a very young age, James joined the Navy and served his country as a quartermaster in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, James studied electronics and communication. Early in his career he worked for KTRH Radio in Houston in the broadcast booth. He retired from Gulf Oil in Odessa, Texas. James was a Ham Radio operator and enjoyed talking to people all over the world. He also played guitar and loved music very much. He was a member of Lakeview Assembly of God in Seven Points, Texas. James went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2015. He is survived by his sons, James Robert, Jr. and wife Karla and Michael Sevier; daughter, Roberta Garrett and husband Buddy; grandchildren, Jamie Sevier and wife Chantez, Russell Sevier and wife Renee, Krystal Womack and husband Mitchell, Damien Humble, Stacie Sevier and John Sevier; and great-grandchildren, Steven, Kayleigh, Cameron, Sabrina, Kinzey, Mykenna, James, Andrew, Joe and Justin. Visitation will be held from 12 noon 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
