James M. Jim Snider, 74, of Dayton, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Jim was born September 20, 1941 in East Prairie, Missouri, to parents; Clyde Snider and Inez Pasley, a former resident of Deer Park, and has resided in Dayton for the past 40 years. He was a member of the Golden Gloves in high school and the military, veteran of the US Army, a pipefitter by trade, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also enjoyed shooting skeet, fishing, bowling, and drag racing.
Mr. Snider was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Snider, mother: Inez Pasley Downey, wife of 35 years: Willetta Faye Tucker Snider, brothers: Gene and Bill Snider, and sister: Linda Sue Snider. He is survived by his sons: Jimmy Snider and wife Mary of Missouri City, Mitchell Snider of Dayton, and Doy Ray Snider of Tennessee, daughter: Desiree McGahey and husband Mark of League City, brothers: Jewell, Charlie, Tom, and Gary Snider, sisters: Betty Tuck, grandchildren: Dusty, Cody, Andrew, Shelby, Shannon, Allen, Brian, Donovan and Mark, Jr., numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
