OBITUARY PORTER James Leon Porter, age 71, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 03, 2013 in Humble, Texas. He was born September 24, 1941 in Cleveland, Texas to parent Archie Porter and Lorraine (Rollins) Porter who preceded him in death along with his brothers Wesley Porter, Buddy Porter, and Bobby Porter. Mr. Porter was a 1959 graduate of Tarkington High School. He was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Navy, serving from August 1959-May 1965. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time but his passion was his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include; the mother of his children, Bennie Porter; his sons, Jimmy Porter and Jason Porter; daughter-in-law Crystal Porter; honorary sons Terry Thain and Alan Benton; brother, Aubrey Porter “Shorty”; grandchildren, Cheyenne Williams and husband Josh, Ricky Weaver, Dylan Brocato, Austin Russell, Austin Porter, Ashley Porter, Shayne Porter, Dustin Carleton, Allyson Porter, Seth Carleton, and Amanda Porter; great-grandchildren, Eli Williams and Maggie Williams; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and faithful friends beyond measure. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 05, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Sam Dever will preside over funeral services being held Sunday, January 06, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Oak Shade Cemetery. Pallbearers include Louis Lamb, Ricky Lamb, Vince Porter, Jimmy Granger, Carey Flemming, and Preston Coats; honorary pallbearers include Doug Trollope, Tex Bonin, Kenneth Lowe, Robert Rice, Ray Bailey, Ray O’Quinn, and John Tillman.
