James Lee “Basco†Byford, 64, of Dayton, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, at the First Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. James was born September 17, 1950 in Port Arthur, to parents; Novel Lee and Bessie P. Pryor Byford, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. He was a graduate of the Port Neches Groves High School class of 1970, a retired pipefitter from Austin Industries, and member of the First Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, tinkering, and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Byford was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Danny Byford and Ivan W. Byford. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Sandra Starustka Byford of Dayton, daughters: Amy Byford of Dayton and Lacey Byford of Dayton, son: Timothy Byford and wife Rose of Willis, grandchildren: Kaven, Quinn, and Corbin, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
