James Howard Davis, Sr., 61, of Diboll, Texas died Friday, January 29, 2016.

Mr. Davis was born October 17, 1954 in Liberty, Texas to parents James T. Davis and Jimmie Wright Davis. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and has worked as a painter.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Davis; mother, Jimmie Bond; grandparents, Jim and Effie Wright and Howard and Pauline Davis; and brother, Joel Davis. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Compean Davis of Diboll; children, James Joseph Davis and wife Leah Davis of Crosby, Amanda Selman of Dayton, Sabrina Davis of Beaumont, James Howard Davis, Jr., Effie, Pauline Davis, and Letha Davis of Diboll; brothers and sisters, Sissie Holstein and husband Charles of Dayton, Bryan Davis and wife Brenda of Liberty, Wesley Davis of Lufkin, Dru Bond and wife Lisa of California; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
