James Hobson White

December 12, 1943 — August 23, 2015

James Hobson White, 71, of Dayton, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. James was born December 12, 1943 in Lufkin, to parents; Eddie Hobson “Hobb” and Vera Mae Smith White. He was a former resident of Houston and has resided in Dayton for the past 12 years. He was a graduate of the Lufkin High School class of 1963 and a retired engineer from Union Pacific. James also enjoyed spending his time with his wife, kids, grandchildren, pets and hunting and fishing. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Kelli White May, and sister: Sue Wallace. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Sue Due White of Dayton, daughter: Kim White Dunavant and husband Matt of Dayton, son: Jason White and wife Amy of Dayton, son-in-law: Jeff May of Huffman, sisters: Betty Kinsel and husband Jerry and Jean Register and husband Marlon, brother: Joe White and wife Kathryn, grandchildren: Chace, Joshua, Justin, and Rheagyn White, Kayla May, Wilder and Matthew Dunavant, and Brayden Ponder, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
