James Elmo Alston, 98, of Dayton passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was born November 16, 1919 in Houston, Texas to parents, Willis and Mary Alston. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. After the war Mr. Alston worked for Sheffield Steel where he was an electrician in Pasadena, Houston and Dayton before his retirement. He was a rancher and was called "The Lone Ranger".
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Pace-Stancil in Dayton.
Services for Mr. Alston will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
Mr. Alston is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Damek Alston of Dayton; also many other family members and friends.
