James Edgar Hicks, Sr.

James Edgar Hicks, Sr., age 79 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019. He was born February 17, 1940 in Alabama to parents James and Winnie Hicks who preceded him in death along with his daughter, Jenny Hicks; brother, Willard Hicks; and sisters, Francis and Carolyn.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Hicks; sons, James Hicks, Jr., Phillip Hicks and wife Kathy, Charlie Hicks and wife Alicia; daughters, Marian “Weezie” Alsobrooks and husband Bill, Faye, Margaret Jones and husband Charles, Sarah, and Linda Godgiben; sisters, Mary Brown and Jean Johnson; grandchildren, Erica, Melissa, Tony, Bradley, Dylan, Alex, Caleb, Brandon, Kyra, Ashlynn, Austin, Amanda, Andrew, Maegen, Hollie, Thomas, and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Tatumn, Braylon, Mary, and Mary Ellen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
