James E. White, 67, of Splendora, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Odyssey Healthcare Center in Conroe. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the New Life Baptist Church in Plum Grove with 2:00 p.m., graveside services at the Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. James was born December 29, 1944 in Baytown, to parents; Elwood E. and Jettie Mae Benge White, raised in Apple Springs, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Splendora area for the past 14 years. He was a self-employed glove salesman, member of the New Life Baptist Church, and veteran of the US Army with service during Vietnam. He also enjoyed his work, playing dominoes, driving, and spending time with friends and family. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter: Cathryn McMillian and husband Wyndell of Lufkin, sisters: Gerry Schaeffer of Garland and Christine Madden of Tatum, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
