James David "J.D." Ross, Jr., of Liberty, Texas died Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Houston, Texas at 91 years of age.
Graveside services for Mr. Ross will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Ross was born March 11, 1926 in Houston, Texas to parents, James David Ross, Sr. and Mamie George Ross. He had been a resident of Liberty since 1947 and had worked as a metal worker in construction. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church, a 25 year worker of the Sheet Metal Workers #54 and worked for Gattis Sheet Metal for over 30 years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Ross enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nadine May Ross, daughter, Debbie Graves, grandson, Allen Graves, brother, Alonzo “Uncle Bub” Ross, sisters, Mona Aldacoa and Becky Brazil. He is survived by his son, David Ross of Dayton, grandchildren, Stacy Cantrell and husband Troy, David Evans and Misty Evans; great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Kayla, Jordan, Kacy, Austin, and Chance also numerous other relatives and friends.
