James Clayton Simmons

James Clayton Simmons, age 78, of Bryan, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. He was born February 19, 1934 in Carthage, Texas to parents A.L. and Martha Simmons who preceded him in death along with her son Johnny R. Simmons; brother Donald Simmons; and his sister Belle Brock. Survivors include his wife Dorothy J. Simmons; daughters Doris L. Gomez and husband Daniel; Belle A. Gustavus and husband Randy; sons, Kenneth W. Simmons and wife Brenda, Jimmy C. Simmons and wife Terry, Billy D. Simmons and wife Debbie; sisters Frances Willis, Barbara Coats and husband Frankie; brothers H.N. Simmons and wife Dortha, David Simmons and wife Val, Andrew Simmons, Bob Simmons, Jack Simmons and wife Joyce; grandchildren Jaime, Tommy Jr., Anthony, Marcus, Crystal, Derek, Tayna, Heath, Shayla, Billy, Shandon, Cheyenne, Andy, Michelle, Stormy, Heather, Ashton, and Zachary; twenty-one great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family members and faithful friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. David Moore and Bro. Chester Holloway will preside over funeral services being held Friday, January 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tommy Richards Jr., Heath Simmons, Derek Simmons, Billy Simmons Jr., Ashton Gustavus, and Zachary Gustavus.
