James Cecil Mifflin, 85, of Dayton passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018. He was born October 27, 1932 in High Island, Texas to parents, Cecil and Myrtle Mifflin.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Magnolia Park Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are John Graves, Shane Havard, Kenny Mifflin, Milton Mifflin, Tommy Mifflin, Greg Ripkowski, Randy Ripkowski, and Steven Ripkowski. Honorary pallbearers will be Brice Austin, Jason Austin, Cole Daniel, Duane Daniel, Cody Havard, Miles Mifflin, Aaron Ripkowski, Daniel Ripkowski, Kelly Ripkowski, Kevin Ripkowski, Bubba Taylor, David Taylor, Kameron Taylor, Lance Turner, Lance Stephen Turner, Michael Turner, Nathanael Turner, and Samuel Turner.
Mr. Mifflin was a longtime resident of Dayton. He attended the Trinity Baptist Church and was retired from Armco Steel and the City of Dayton. He enjoyed the outdoors but loved his family, especially his grandkids.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold and Carlton Mifflin, sisters, Lillie Flowers and Naomi Ripkowski, and nephew, Ronne Ripkowski. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Mifflin of Dayton; son, Jimmy Mifflin and wife Jenniva of Dayton; daughter, Angie Doskocil and husband Paul of Dayton; sisters, Georgia Daniel of Livingston and Frances Turner and husband George of Conroe; grandchildren, Ashley Doskocil and Matthew Bumgarner, Bailey Doskocil, and Hailie Mifflin; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Helen Ripkowski of Dayton; brother-in-law, Bill Taylor and Cissi of Dayton; other family members and friends.
